Jonathan graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in English). He was admitted to the bar in March 2013.

Jonathan joined Fee Langstone in 2018 after working as a barrister in civil litigation at a specialist construction litigation firm in Auckland. His practice areas have included construction, property, insurance disputes, earthquake matters, insolvency, employment, unit titles matters, public law, general civil litigation and international commercial disputes. He has appeared in the District Court, High Court, Employment Relations Authority and Immigration Protection Tribunal, and has authored submissions to the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
